Recently while singing the words:
"Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders,
Let me walk upon the waters wherever You would lead me,
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander…"
I had to pause and ask myself, “Do I really mean this? Is this truly my desire?”
Facing a cancer diagnosis, or debilitating disease, or watching a loved one face a third round of chemo are not paths I would choose to walk down but I have learned God’s love will never leave me on the unexpected journey. He guarantees I will not walk alone!
“Be not dismayed for I AM your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand." Is. 41:10
“The LORD tends His flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart." Is 40:11
“The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are His everlasting arms.” Deut. 33:27
As I remember all His precious promises I can continue to sing...
Lead me on and my faith will be made stronger in the presence of my Savior.
And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace,
For I am Yours and You are mine.
You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand.
Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me,
You’ve never failed and You won’t start now!!"
